Kate Mura hails from Portland, Oregon, where she is Co-Artistic Director of Fuse Theatre Ensemble, proud member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 28, and a theatrical Jane of all trades. From National Broadway tours (Hairspray, Dreamgirls, Shrek the Musical, Lion King, Wicked, Mama Mia) to regional theatre (Tony Award-Winning Goodman Theatre, Portland Center Stage, Artist’s Rep, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Oregon Children’s Theatre, Northwest Children’s Theatre, Third Rail Rep) to fringe theatres (Jewish Theatre Collaborative, Milagro, theater simple, Public House, Original Practice Shakespeare, Vertigo, Stage Two, Masque Alfresco, Anonymous) to festivals (JAW West, Fertile Ground, The World As A Place of Truth) to puppets (Tears of Joy, Ping Chong and Company) she loves it all. Recent prop design work includes Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol and Next to Normal (Artist’s Rep), Chris Tabor’s new musical, Recognition and two seasons with the Portland Revels. She has been guest movement faculty at DePaul University’s Theatre School where she also has her BFA, and coached mask work on No Man’s Land starring William Hurt and Alan Nause.
